photoblog image Spirit of the Forest

Spirit of the Forest

“It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.” ~ Robert Louis Stevenson

Work with a new model ENVI - taken on possibly the windiest day in the world - ever! We kept on getting blown over by the strength of the wind but had fun in the forest amongst all the trees. From a disasterous day we got a few good shots. I loved working with her and she'll be a regular face on future shoots. She's just stunning and this was her first time in front of a camera!

Great pic. Had been looking forward to seeing how the shoot with envi went. Really impressed and hope to see more soon. smile
Lisa WakentheDead: Hi Michabo, more envi on the way shortly! Stay tuned
Another amazing portrait, superb work, love the pp. And a very great model!!!
Lisa, you seem to use some of the same techniques of one of my favourite digital artists, Chad Micheal Ward, you may or not know him, but i you'd ever like to share some of the technique on the image overlays, I'll be a astute student
Lisa WakentheDead: Hi Patrick, I know some of Chads work. With regards to the PP work - its a lot of layers, a lot of imagination and just enough mystery left for the viewer to fill in the blanks. A lot of trial and error. This image had over 100 layers added to it using various textures from all kinds of things such as concrete, wood and even masking tape. Brushes used to add the little magic sparkle dots on the left hand side and the finish touch of some ivy layered over the top and blended in. I've never taken a photoshop class or read about techniques, I just got stuck in and 8 months later, this is the kinda work I'm doing. It's loads of fun!
