I must remove my skin - to see belief in your eyes

Do you not know that there comes a midnight hour when every one has to throw off his mask? Do you believe that life will always let itself be mocked? Do you think you can slip away a little before midnight in order to avoid this? Or are you not terrified by it? I have seen men in real life who so long deceived others that at last their true nature could not reveal itself;... In every man there is something which to a certain degree prevents him from becoming perfectly transparent to himself; and this may be the case in so high a degree, he may be so inexplicably woven into relationships of life which extend far beyond himself that he almost cannot reveal himself. But he who cannot reveal himself cannot love, and he who cannot love is the most unhappy man of all. ~ Soren Kierkegaard

This is one of the hardest, most intensive pieces I've ever created. Initially captured in a photograph - the wall, the man, the bandages and pose etc are real and my own vision created on top. There are hundreds of layers in this image - 4 weeks worth of work. It's one of my fave pieces of work. I wanted to create a vision of a lost soul - bound by society, chained and bound, blind and just another number - but being reborn through hope, his soul being set free.

I'm surprised no one else has commented on this as it is an absolutely stunning piece.

It's easy to see the amount of time and effort you have put in. The smoke effect is simply amazing, it blends effortlessly with the main image without overpowering it. I love how you have kept the rust and integral part of the centre of the image, the fusion of man and metal.

It's about time a major company was picking you up for some serious top level work, you certainly have the skills...

Jobe : )
Lisa WakentheDead: Any major companies can feel free lol - at the moment it's all just done as a personal project. More on the way. smile
this is definitely a masterpiece of Art!!! Speechless. When you said hundreds of layers and a month of work. I knew I could expect soemthing extraordinary, but you have exceeded my highest expectation, I already became a fan earlier, you just rose to super stardom in my eyes.

Reminds me of the works of Alberto GarcĂa-Alix (but wih technology) back in his heroin days.
